A few good notes

You can guess that there will be a lot of entries about the tropical country of Suriname. If I forget something, whenever I think of something, whenever I read something relevant, I will write about Suriname.

Contrary to what (still) a lot of people think, Suriname is not in Africa! Suriname is on the north-eastern coast of South America, neighbored by French Guyana to the East, Guyana to the West, Brazil to the South and some huge pond called the Atlantic to the North.

… what’s the question?

How do you know if someone has read something you wrote? Well, certainly not when they send you the following mail:

nice blog, are that photo’s off you’re country??

Why are people not reading? Is it just laziness? or do they just “scan” the page with their eyes, picking up what they think is the most valuable info on the page? Read the rest of this entry »

I always like those “Hello World!” dummy posts. At least they make more sense than my “This is my first article” dummy posts, where I copy-paste the title 30, maybe 40 times, just to fill it up! I’m just going to leave it here!

OK, so welcome to my blog. After thinking about it for decades (?) I finally decided to start this thing. Funny thing is, I dont even know what I am going to write. So you might need to come back often to see what’s new. One way you can know when there is a new entry, is to read the RSS feeds (Huh.. RSS what?).

I will leave room for comments from my visitors. The only thing I ask is that you please register first (well, you will need to for commenting), be polite, avoid the use of profanity, please do your best not to SPAM my site and use clear English (hmm, I think I need to redifine the word “only”).

Ow, yeah, before I forget and before you ask: No, that is not Suriname in the header. This beautiful picture came with the theme. I might try to find a more relevant picture to put in my header in the near future, but meantime, let’s enjoy the Fjords (whatever that may be!)
